** Now supports iTunes Document Sharing, for easy backup of your recipes.**
Chefs Book is designed to allow you to record the food you cook and to share the recipes with other Chefs Book users. As a universal application it is designed to take advantage of each devices abilities. With the iPhone you can use the camera to illustrate your recipes, on the iPad you have the screen real estate to use it as a reference in the kitchen.
It is designed to be your recipe book, as such a handful of recipes are included to get you started. Of course you can always find more and share them with your friends.
Recipes within the application are organised into categories you create, each category can have an icon taken from your library or camera. Existing categories can be edited and deleted. Management tools allow you to merge categories or move individual recipes around; thus allowing you to organise your Chefs Book how you want it.
Recipes may have a main illustrative photo and each step in the method may also be illustrated, each photo is stored as a thumbnail and as the full sized original for future reference. Recipes may have any number of ingredients and steps, which can be re-ordered and edited.
Recipes can now be printed directly from the application to a supported printer and exchanged via email as PDF documents as well as shared with other Chefs Book users with the chefdoc file format. The PDF formatting is basic but serviceable for now and will improve.
Once shared recipes remain fully editable encouraging collaboration and experimentation. Recipes are currently exchange via email. More community based features are planned for the near future.
